The Structured Overview of Learning Outcomes (SOLO) taxonomy – What are the benefits of knowing what you know and what you don’t? SOLO provides an accessible frame of reference for both teachers and learners to easily diagnose the pitch of a lesson o their place in a topic.  They can then guide themselves towards arrival at the next level.  More useful that telling a student to “work harder!”
